Course Description
This graduate level course aims to provide the groundwork for the study of juvenile delinquency and juvenile justice. It provides students with knowledge regarding the following: juvenile delinquency and its causes and correlates, strategies and policies being used to control delinquency, a broad picture about the juvenile justice system using the American model as an example. Cross-cultural comparisons will be made to further students' understanding of delinquent behavior and to examine the applicability of Western theories and policies in the Chinese context.

CILO-1: Define juvenile delinquency and identify its causes and correlates, strategies and policies.
