Course Description
Clinical Practicum I is a supervised field placement in an approved training site for clinical practice and learning. Performances and professional development will be monitored and evaluated. The minimum number of hours to document for this field placement is 334 hours. Candidates will participate in weekly individual and/or group supervision as scheduled for case consultation and professional development.
Intended Learning Outcomes
As a result of this course, candidates will meet the following objectives:
1. Become familiar with the mandates, policies, and clientele of an applied setting in which clinical psychology is practiced.
2. Gain experience and competence in case formulation, assessment, intervention, and consultation related to the clientele of a particular setting.
3. Gain experience and competence in written (e.g., assessment reports, treatment plans, progress reports) and oral communications (e.g., case presentations) with clients and setting staff.
