Course Description
What is the good life and how do human beings achieve it? What can philosophy contribute to resolving question about how to best relate to our environment? How can we deal with newly evolving technologies and the digitization of our lifeworld? How to be economically productive and yet content? How do our bodies and our mortality influence our conceptions of living well? This course introduces philosophical responses to such questions. It applies philosophical ideas to real-world problems and relates philosophical reasoning to practical problems of human existence in the contemporary world.

CILO-1: Identify key dimensions of practical philosophy.
CILO-2: Formulate conceptions of happiness and a good life.
CILO-3: Address problems regarding the economy, the environment, or health from a philosophical perspective.
