I - The real property rights in general: Definition - structural and functional perspective. Constitutive principles of 'ius in rem' -
1. Internal principles. External principles. Characteristics of real property rights. The great manners to order the ways of dominance. Types of ''ius in rem''.
II - Possession (provisional order of dominance) Definition of possession. The greatest problems of possession. Possession systems. The system of Macau. Possession with cause and formal possession. Possession and mere detention. Rights that can be possessed. Things that can be possessed. Capacity to possess. Characteristics of possession. Acquisition of possession. Effects of possession
a. The protection of the possession (the means for defend the possession).
b. The adverse possession (usucapio).

Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Students will: Demonstrate and apply understanding of the legal principles of property law in Macau, and the nature and effect of different types of property rights and interests, including co-ownership, strata law and mortgages; Comprehend the difference between Registered and Unregistered title; Be able to demonstrate a detailed understanding of relevant statute law. Students will develop and consolidate the following skills: Legal reasoning, argument and criticism, and problem solving; Identify relevant legal issues and apply legal concepts, principles and rules; Conduct legal research; Present legal argument both orally and in written form; Interpret statutory provisions.
