Course Description
This course provides oral interpretation practice and addresses common mistakes of interpretation in both languages. Similarities and differences between the Japanese and Chinese language are discussed. In addition to the language itself, ways of thinking and cultureal elements in the translation of both languages will be emphasized. At the end of the course, students will be able to perform basic to intermediate levels of interpretation.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Gain basic skills of interpretation between Chinese and Japanese by using various training method of interpretation.
CILO-2: Demonstrate understanding of the importance of interpersonal communication in cross cultural situation.
CILO-3: Gain listening ability of Japanese.
