Course Description
This course aims to provide students with solid training in the principles and procedures of statistical inference, which are essential for making business decisions. Analysis of complex business problems arising in practice requires understanding fundamental statistical principles and knowing how to use suitable modeling techniques. Computing using statistical software is also an essential element of modern statistical practice. This course provides students with these skills by introducing them to a variety of statistical inference procedures and linear statistical models using mainstream statistical software packages.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Explain the properties of statistical distributions and the foundations of classical inference.
CILO-2: Conduct appropriate hypothesis tests on populations.
CILO-3: Utilize statistical techniques involving nominal data to make inferences about populations.
CILO-4: Execute and interpret linear regression analysis in a business context, fit linear regression models using statistical software, and present the results of data analysis and modeling.
CILO-5: Examine ordinal data using nonparametric techniques.
