Noting that new and endemic business approaches will be needed to sustain the balanced growth of tourism and integrated resorts in Macau, this course examines the emerging model of integrated casino resorts across the Asia-Pacific region from its origins in Las Vegas. The course considers the technological and other forces which are disrupting and transforming the tourism and casino industries as traditionally defined, drawing on service and experience models from across Asia. Longstanding cultural influences on leadership in Asia such as Confucianism are also acknowledged.
