Course Description
This course focuses on the processes that will facilitate students’ self-awareness and exploration of values, beliefs, and socio-cognitive skills for active participation as responsible citizens and leaders in the local community and globally. Through collaborative teaching and learning and peer socialization processes, students will engage in a range of individual and group projects related to personal development and social skill development fostering effective self-evaluation, networking, group work, social responsibility and service leadership.
Intended Learning Outcomes
Students will:
1. Reflect upon their own strengths and weaknesses for personal leadership and responsible citizenship.
2. Demonstrate critical thinking about concepts relevant to self-development and management of social skills
3. Demonstrate consciousness of self, others and context through active interaction and networking with the local and global commuties.
4. Integrate ideas effectively in written and oral communication, both formally and informally.
5. Apply appreciative inquiry to promote change in a range of personal and social settings.
