In this course students will explore the fascinating cultural history of Macao from the 16th century to the present. Lectures and discussions will focus on the cross-cultural exchanges between East and West in the making of a unique Macao identity. Students will examine the multi-dimensional character and meanings of Macao’s cultural, religious, culinary, gaming, and architectural heritage.

CILO-1: Students will be able to acquired knowledge in History to questions that cross boundaries of time and geographical space. CILO-2: Students will be able to develop analytical skills in defining and solving historical problems. CILO-3: Students will be able to identify important issues in cultural history of Macao. CILO-4: Students will be able to develop spoken and reading English skills.
