Course Description
This course provides a Ph.D.-level survey of quantitative data analysis techniques employed in political science and public administration, aiming to equip students with the skills necessary to read, understand, and critically evaluate the academic literature in empirical political science and public administration; design and conduct studies that employ these techniques to test substantive theories; and possess the foundational knowledge required to independently learn more advanced techniques by reading methodology articles published in journals such as Political Analysis or Political Science Research and Methods.

CILO-2: Read, interpret, and evaluate applied quantitative research results in leading journals of political science and public administration.
CILO-3: Apply data analysis and data cleaning techniques to conduct quantitative research for their own research project.
CILO-4: Communicate research design and findings effectively, using verbal and visual methods.
CILO-5: Read methodology articles on their own to acquire new skills when necessary.
