Course Description
This course discusses the institutional dimension of the EU as a multilevel civilian political entity, while addressing the socio-economic dimension of multilevel governance and the Lisbon Strategy (2000-2010). It also allows students to have understandings in the institutional framework of the EU external relations as well as the EU global governance and the concepts of multilateralism.
Intended Learning Outcomes
After the course, students should master both the legal and formalized EU ways of governance and the informal one. That is only possible through the deep knowledge of competence sharing and examples of governance and decision making in various diverse policy fields, from trade to CFSP. The comparative dimension is also taken into account, with federal states on the one hand and with other regional organizations like ASEAN on the other hand.
