This course will develop skills in three areas: discipline-specific research methods, the practice of detailed textual analysis and the ability to make critical insights and produce original interpretations. The course will use a variety of source materials and exercises as practical examples and will be assessed by coursework.

CILO-1: Assess a research project and determine effective approaches to it. CILO-2: Perform intensive readings of a range of textual material. CILO-3: Distinguish and describe innovative and insightful interpretations of literary and cultural texts. CILO-4: Effectively present research methods, textual analysis and interpretation in scholarly writing. CILO-5: Effectively communicate research methods, textual analysis and interpretation through presentations.
