Course Description
This course focuses on global cinema or filmed literature. It specifically explores issues of industrial practices, authorial subjectivities, spectatorship, and social ideologies. Topics to be covered include but not limited to auteur studies, genre studies, star studies, and other critical approaches to film studies, including feminism, postmodernism, and queer theory.

CILO-1: Identify and analyze artistic variation from filmic texts.
CILO-2: Explain what innovative features of filmic art typically appear in film.
