Course Description
This course covers a wide range of lighting systems and their applications in illuminating buildings indoors and outdoors. The subject aims at enabling students to identify, analyze and evaluate basic components and features in lighting systems; and then to apply these components appropriately in building lighting design.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering appropriate to the degree discipline.
CILO-2: An ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data.
CILO-3: An ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints, such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability and sustainability.
CILO-4: An ability to identify, formulate and solve engineering problems.
CILO-5: An ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice appropriate to the degree discipline.
