Course Description
The course will develop oral proficiency of spoken English and listening comprehension at an intermediate level. Listening will focus on note-taking and aural comprehension using thought-provoking material from texts, television, film and music. Speaking will focus on fluency, accuracy, and skills and strategies for effective communication and personal interaction. the course will also place a large focus on vocabulary building and collocation for the purpose of improving spoken communication. A smaller focus on reading and writing will also be included in preparation for group presentations, role play and story telling. Group work involving discussion is an integral part of the course. In addition, the course will involve some contact assignments that will take place outside the classroom.

CILO-7: Listen for main ideas and identify details of conversations and short presentations of 2-3 minutes long.
CILO-8: Take simple notes of conversations and short presentations of 2-3 mins.
