This course deals with the design, development, implementation, and administration of database management systems. It equips learners with the knowledge of the design principles of the database management system in school settings. Topics focus on database principles, architecture of database systems, database modelling and design, SQL languages, database filing systems, indexing, query processing, concurrency control and recovery schemes.

CILO-1: Understand and evaluate the role of database management systems in school settings. CILO-2: Understand the SQL data definition and SQL query languages. CILO-3: Design a database solution to an information technology problem in school.
