Course Description
This course provides students with fundamentals for power system reliability and resilience, as well as modern trend in relevant area. The course covers power system modeling for reliability resilience, extreme events, cyber attacks, as well as protection and cyber layers; build a foundation in probability theory and statistical techniques relevant to reliability analysis; explore maintenance strategies, asset management principles, and reliability-centered maintenance techniques; perform risk assessment. The improvement of power system resilience using modern techniques such as artificial intelligence will also be explored.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Design and conduct computer simulations to evaluate the performance and effectiveness of power system reliability and resilience evaluation, and enhancement strategy.
CILO-2: Identify and analyze complex problems in power system reliability and resilience, devise appropriate strategies to solve them.
CILO-3: Apply knowledge of electrical and computer engineering concepts to solve real-world problems in power system reliability and resilience.
