Course Description
This course explores the planning, operation, power quality, and optimization of power distribution networks, focusing on their efficient management and sustainable development. It also covers building energy management systems, including monitoring, control, and energy efficiency strategies to enhance performance in modern power and building systems. Students will gain practical insights into improving energy utilization, reducing costs, and ensuring sustainability in both power distribution and building operations, preparing them to address challenges in today’s energy-driven world.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Analyze and compare power distribution systems by evaluating their structure, earthing schemes, operation modes, and power quality.
CILO-2: Evaluate and analyze current trends and emerging technologies in the field of urban building energy management.
CILO-3: Utilize modern simulation tools such as Matlab or computer programming to analyze and optimize power distribution system.
CILO-4: Communicate effectively by presenting and explaining building management technologies, using appropriate terminology and visual aids in both written and oral formats.
