Course Description
This course provides advanced and specialised training on communication theories. Content areas vary according to the expertise of the instructor, and the interests of the students. The instructor will select relevant readings, and design in-class as well as homework assignments to help students gain knowledge of popular classic and new theories in communication. Students will review literature and produce theoretical papers for academic conferences then eventually publications in academic journals.

CILO-1: Identify, describe, and apply various communication theories across global and specific contexts and situations.
CILO-2: Discuss and explain how various theoretical approaches are used to examine diverse communicative and social issues and questions.
CILO-3: Evaluate the connections between various theories and topics of inquiry.
CILO-4: Apply a research theory (or theories) that is appropriate to a topic that the student will explore in their thesis.
