Course Description
This course focuses on the nature of classroom discourse. Various models of discourse analysis are introduced, and students apply them to different situations to analyze styles of learning and teaching. Classes studied range from traditional to progressive, and the language of learning may be English, Portuguese and/or Chinese.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Use models of discourse analysis to assess different modes of interaction in the L2 classroom.
CILO-2: Explain how these modes of interaction relate to different teaching and learning styles.
CILO-3: Adjust their own teaching performance.
